Why a passepartout?
As we mentioned above, we also offer passepartouts. A passepartout gives your image an extra frame which highlights it further. A picture with a framed motif is often perceived as slightly more posh, and the picture comes more into its own.
What can lower the impression of your picture is a passepartout that has turned yellow or discoloured over time. This can happen when the paper in the passepartout reacts with the sunlight to which it's exposed. After all, our pictures hang year in and year out in the same place, and get rather a lot of light.
Our passepartouts are made of PH-neutral and acid-coated paper, to make sure that they don't turn ugly over time. With a white passepartout, you put the focus on the picture, and the inner edge, which is cut at an angle, will emphasize it even further.
